Getting our "Jugs" in a row

The To-do list is finally getting smaller, the To-Buy list has now evolved into a Wish-list of my constant stream of ideas and the To-Bake list is keeping our team of taste testers (neighbours & friends) well fed and satisfied!

Many of the constant ideas stream are great, (Rachael agrees) some are unfeasible or just plain self-indulgent (I reluctantly conceded defeat.) But most are for the future, an exciting future of fun, enjoyable, rewarding days ahead to share with our community and new friends.

Patience and perfectionism. The latter I have in abundance, the former is non-existent! So the planning and preparation of Holborough Bakes has been a mixture of excitement and enjoyment with a large dose of impatience.

But things are really taking shape, the vision is now a reality, the coffee is flowing, the milk frothing, and the cakes baking as we practice getting as slick as possible for opening!

We took delivery of our bespoke coffee trike which was planned and built with the incredible team at Urban Tricycles, proudly made in the UK and featuring (this bit's for the geeks):

• A shiny new double group coffee machine with dual fuel technology allowing operation by LPG or electricity

• High quality grinder for our Lost Sheep House Roast called "Get To The Hopper" (80s movie/Schwarzenegger fans will get it!)

• Onboard filtered water supply & waste along with a built in jug rinser!

• Electric assist drivetrain, its not far to the village green but fully laden it's seriously heavy

With all of the lovely branding and finishing touches we can't wait to show it off and see it set up in its new home serving great coffee!

This intro Blog and update on Holborough Bakes wouldn't be complete without a mention of my inspirational & brave wife Rachael. With two surgeries and 16 weeks of Chemotherapy now behind her, a nice relaxing stayaway scheduled followed by some final weeks of Radiotherapy and we leave one story behind as we begin a new one. Where there is still a long way to full recovery, Holborough Bakes is the perfect medicine to keep us focused and enjoying this exciting new venture.
